About
PixSplit is a collection of 14 free tools for everyday PDF and image jobs: merging and splitting PDFs, compressing images, converting iPhone photos, signing documents and more.
Why it exists
Most online file tools work by uploading your file to a server. That is slow for big files and awkward for private ones: IDs, contracts, medical letters and family photos. We built these tools so that nothing has to be uploaded in the first place. The page you open contains the whole program. Your browser runs it on your device, and the result is created right there.
How it works
- Your files are read by your browser and processed in background threads using JavaScript and WebAssembly.
- Results are created in memory and handed to you as a download. We never receive a copy.
- After your first visit the tools are saved on your device, so they keep working offline.
You do not have to take our word for it. Every tool page explains how to confirm it in the Network tab of your browser's developer tools, and the privacy policy describes exactly what we do and do not collect.
How it is paid for
The tools are free, with no account and no usage limits. The site is supported by advertising. Ads are shown around the tools, never between your file and the download button, and you can decline them in the cookie banner without losing any feature.
Open-source software
The tools are built on excellent open-source projects such as pdf-lib, pdf.js, Squoosh codecs and libheif. See the licences page.
